The Indian Consulate is outsourcing its visa processing to an outside company. EXPERT VISA SERVICE will still be able to submit and pick up your documents to obtain visas, however the requirements have changed.

• Submit your valid signed passport with at least 6 months remaining validity from date of exit from intended destination-you must send your passport.
• 1 Completed and signed visa application form (Following this link takes you to a third party web site to complete this application form.) The India visa application is an online visa application form. Applicants will type the visa application online., when completed a pdf. of the application will be created which will need to be printed and signed by the applicant. Applications must be printed on 2 separate sheets of paper. Applications submitted on one sheet of paper double sided will not be accepted by the consulate and will cause delays in processing. Any wrong information typed on the form will be printed on the visa and the consulate will not correct. Delays in processing due to wrong information being typed on the Indian visa application are not the responsibility of Expert Visa Service and will not be corrected by the consulate, the applicant will have to complete new documentation and reapply for their visa. • 1 Company Letter from U.S. based employer on letterhead. Letter must state the validity of the visa requested. If applying for a 5 or 10 year visa the letter must state dates proposed future trips to India and well as a explanation why the applicant will need a 5 or 10 year visa.
• Invitation from Company in India letter must state the validity of the visa requested.(Fax is acceptable)
• Proof of Address: Photocopy of Drivers License or utility bill .

The length of the visa issued is at the consulates discretion, the consulate will not change the length of visa or refund money if they do not issue the visa for the length requested.

The Indian Consulate in New York is not issuing 10 year visas at this time. If applicants are applying for 5 year business visas they must include proposed dates of future travel to India in the company letter and a reason for needing a 5 year visa.

The Indian consulate is no longer issuing a 1 year tourist visa. Applicants can choose from a 6 month, 5 year or 10 year visa.

If an applicant stays in India on a tourist or Business visa for 90 days they must leave India for at least 2 months before returning. If the applicant needs to return to India before the end of that 2 months they may contact their closest consulate for special permission to return to India.

Former Indian passport holders must submit their old Indian passports or last U.S. passport to accompany the visa application unless current passport has an expired Indian visa in it.

Applicant must supply reference address and phone number in India and U.S.A. on application.

Applicants born in Pakistan or with religious affiliation (Ministers, Priests, etc.) must apply in person.

Any wrong information typed on the form will be printed on the visa and the consulate will not correct.
